First Day of School

This past Monday was the kids first day of school! Our planning was all done and the kids were getting antsy for something to do so Monday felt right. The Friday before the announcement was made that we were going to start another year. Mixed emotions ran through all of us since we have had so much fun over the summer but we were all craving some routine.

What is the best way for all the kids to wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed? Pop Tarts! A good wise friend of mine (Joanna) said if you want them to get up early, feed them an occasional treat! Well, that trick worked and all were up in record time.

He wouldn't let me tear into his! 1 1/2 and he already has the mindset of a 3 year old.

Kylie ran down to our school room and was happily surprised by some of our back to school goodies.

This year I have decided to forgo the emphasis on what grade they are in. They are now in their supposed grade at church activities but since they do things from different grades based on their abilities we just nixed the labeling. They are totally fine with it!

If you can't see his sign, it says "Jake's First Day of Pre-Pre-Pre- School!"

Opening up their goody box.

Even had some fun things for our littlest student. Kylie is so excited to help him learn too!

Most important school item.

Testing it out.

Whetting their appetite of what was to come!

Getting right to it... So thankful my kids love school!

Our core curriculum will be a mix of Vol. 1-4 of Five in a Row which the kids love (I do too!) Math-U-See, All About Spelling and Story of the World. I am sure there will be other things thrown in too. Can't wait to begin a new year!

Happy Weekend!
